CORPSE REVIVER No. 2

Harry Craddock's hair of the dog classic

Here's another brunch cocktail you may or may not have heard of. The Corpse Reviver No. 2 originally appeared in Harry Craddock's 1930 Savoy Cocktail book as a "hair of the dog cocktail," meaning you drank too much the night before and a little extra alcohol will make you feel right (get it, corpse Reviver?). Although there is a Corpse Reviver no. 1, the no. 2 is by a wide margin the most popular and what you'll get if you order one at a bar.

This is an equal parts, perfectly balanced cocktail that's citrusy, refreshing, boozy yet we'll proportioned. Whether the hair of the dog approach can actually fix your hangover blues is a matter for no small scholarly debate, you can make one and decide for yourself. Just remember what Harry Craddock said, "Four of these in quick succession will quickly unrevive the corpse again."
