CORPSE REVIVER No.2

A classic gin cocktail revived from history and ready to take over

The Corpse Reviver No. 2 originally appeared in Harry Craddock’s famous Savoy Cocktail Book published in 1930. Better known than the No. 1, the No. 2 contains gin, Lillet, and Cointreau in equal proportions and is fresh and citrusy with just a slight herbal note from the absinthe. From a long line of "hair of the dog" cocktails meant to cure a hangover, Craddock wrote the No. 2 was, “To be taken before 11 a.m., or whenever steam and energy are needed.”

Don't be fooled by its early morning suggestion. This is a potent drink, so it's worth keeping Craddock’s warning in mind, “Four of these taken in swift succession will quickly unrevive the corpse again.”
