SIDECAR
A cognac classic perfect for lovers of the lemon drop
The Sidecar is a classic cocktail that is descended from the little known and now mostly forgotten Brandy Crusta. The name of this cocktail is a bit of a debate with two bars claiming they invented the drink and named it after a customer that showed up in the sidecar of a motorcycle.
Famous cocktail expert Dale DeGroff, however, maintains the name came from the liquid left in the shaker after straining that was then served in a shot glass. A little side treat for the cocktail.
No matter what the true origin of the name is, this is a great cocktail for those who like lemon drops or just want to try more cognac cocktails. It's a little sweet and packed with citrus flavor.
