SNOWDAY CIDER
If mulled wine isn't for you try this mulled cider instead
Mulled wine can be tricky. You have to use the right kind of red wine with the right amount of sweetness and a careful selection of spices. Even then I've found that it isn't usually a crowd pleaser. Swapping the red wine for apple cider is great because who doesn't like a hot apple cider during the winter? This recipe is perfect if you like apple cider, want to try something new, and want your house to smell amazing.
SNOWDAY CIDER
Ingredients
1 gallon apple cider
3 Granny Smith apples
1 orange
1 tbs allspice berries
1 tbs whole cloves
5-7 cinnamon sticks
0.5 cups cranberries
0.5 cup sugar
1.5 oz. Apple brandy per serving
Instructions
Pour apple cider in large stock pot. Dice apples and add. Peel the rind off the orange and add it to mixture. Add the spices and sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Bring mixture to a low boil and then reduce heat to low simmer for 1 hour. Serve in toddy glasses or mugs and add apple brandy to each.
