I'm taking a break from the cocktails to post about an amazing beer. Growing up in central Ohio, craft breweries were as plentiful as grocery stores. I went out of my way to try every single one and loved the craft culture. When I moved to the D.C. area, I had to discover new local breweries all over again.
Luckily, someone I worked with introduced me to Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager. The DB Brewery lies in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains and DB works hard to bring this culture and flavor into their beers.
This amber colored lager is a delicious blend of four imported malts and is no exception. The Vienna Lager is finished with just enough sweetness and hops to balance it perfectly and make it one of my favorite beers. So much so that it takes the spot as my first Beer of the Month on Bitters & Brew.
